People often ask "What should I present?" Present your passion! What do you do in your classroom that you're proud of? We. Want. To. See. It. If you love your presentation, we will love your presentation! If you were looking for a more direct answer, many ChemEd attendees report that they love presentations that are hands-on, make-n-takes, relate to Next Generation Science Standards, relate to how you implement your pedagogy, and are things that they can readily implement in their classroom during the upcoming school year. Have you presented at a conference before? Consider grabbing a colleague to present with you! What better way to #PayItForward and help give other educators the confidence to present.

You've submitted your proposal, now what? You should receive confirmation of your acceptance no later than March 1st, 2019. Please be on the lookout for an email from Program@ChemEd2019.com to the email in which you submitted your proposal.

What will you be asked on the proposal submission form?

Besides the usual logistics of presenter information & presentation type, you will be asked these three main questions:

1) Session Title

2) A brief (<25 words) description

3) A summary (<200 words) detailing the content and activity(ies) of the workshop or presentation

Presentation Styles:

Traditional Presentation:

You will be scheduled for either a 30 or 60 minute time slot. Traditional presentations will take place in a lecture style/traditional classroom. These presentations will be scheduled in rooms which can hold a maximum of 30, 50, or 130 participants depending on presenter preference and scheduling availability.

Workshop Presentation:

Workshops can be a make-n-take (reimbursed workshop), a hands on 'wet' lab, hands on 'dry' lab, or computer lab. You will be scheduled for either a 60, 90, or 120 minute time slot. Workshop presentations will take place in a science lab space, rooms with tables, computer lab, or traditional classroom depending on the type of workshop. All workshops will max out at 24 participants.
