Presenter Information

So, My Proposal has been Accepted, Now What?

Congratulations!  We are excited to meet you and grateful for your willingness to present.  Please see below for the "next steps."

By April 15th:

  • Early bird pricing ends!

By May 30th:

  • Register! (Only those presenters that have registered by this date will have their presentation put in the printed program.  This will help keep information accurate for us and our attendees.  Reminder - EARLY BIRD pricing ends April 15th!)

By June 7th:

By June 8th - REIMBURSED workshops only!

  • Please complete the form emailed to you by June 8th and then email Program@ChemEd2019.com to notify us that you have completed it.  A HUGE thank you to Pittcon for sponsoring these! =)

After June 28th, but to arrive before July 13th:

  • Shipping materials for your presentation?  (All supplies and materials being shipped must arrive at NCC  after June 28  but no later than July 13) Please ship presenter items to:

North Central College

Wentz Science Center

Attn: Paul Brandt

Presenter Name and 1 of __ boxes (Please be sure to include this!)

131 S. Loomis St.

Naperville, IL. 60540

  • Shipping items away from North Central College: The North Central mail center can assist in the shipping of items away from campus to UPS, FedEx and USPS. In order to utilize this service, you MUST provide a prepaid shipping label; otherwise you will be responsible for sending your items elsewhere for shipping.

Before the Conference:

  • Upload! (A great part of attending conferences is having access to materials that are presented!  Please consider uploading your presentation files to ChemEd 2019's google drive.)

  • If you are presenting and do not want certain presentation slides shared on social media, the icon to the right may be used on slides to indicate your preference.  Please include the icon on each slide you wish not to be shared to ensure your preference is known to any participants that enter the presentation after its commencement.  You can download a high res .jpg of the icon here.

Technology:

  • Each room will have a computer and projector.  You will be able to use the desktop computer which projects/has sound.

  • If you plan to hook up your own computer --> BYOD - Bring your own HDMI dongle!

* Chem lab rooms have a laptop, other labs have a slightly different desktop look

How to use the technology - you have 1 of two choices... either:

1) On the college computer provided locate your files either via emailed attachment, cloud based app, or USB drive.

Protip: If you open an attachment/file on the college computer - if you used non-standard fonts, the presentation might distort a little, video if not properly embedded might not be accessible.  Cloud based presentations such as google slides should work without any issue.

2) Connect your laptop to the system YOU'LL NEED TO BRING YOUR OWN HDMI DONGLE

Protip: make sure it's an HMDI connector!  We do not have dongles to lend - it is cost prohibitive and unlikely to have one specific to each attendee's laptop type.
